Directory listings (from public sources, no account yet):
See "Directory listings we build from public sources" below for how this works and how to opt out.
DriveInstruct runs a public directory of UK driving instructors. Some listings belong to instructors who have not yet created an account. We build those listings from information that is already publicly available, so we are giving you this notice under Article 14 of the UK GDPR (information collected from sources other than you).
Where we get the data: business listings on Google (via the Google Places API), instructors' own public websites, and the Companies House public register.
What we hold: business or trading name, town and postcode area, approximate location, a business phone number and business email address where publicly listed, website address, and a Companies House number where applicable. We do not publish the phone number or email address on the public listing while it is unclaimed.
Legal basis: our legitimate interests in running a useful, comprehensive directory and connecting learners with local instructors. We do not send marketing to these contact details without a lawful basis to do so.
Your choices: you can object to the listing and have it removed at any time, and you can ask us to erase the data we hold about you. Use the unsubscribe link in any email we send you, or contact us at support@driveinstruct.co.uk. We action removal and erasure requests promptly.
Some of our suppliers are based outside the UK. Where personal data is transferred to a country without a UK adequacy decision, we rely on appropriate safeguards, principally the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (IDTA) or the International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with third parties except as described in this policy.
